ShEw....it's REALLY COLD!!

IT'S SO COLD....I can't say that enough.....the temperature got close to -30 with wind chill plus all the snow. We survived all the running Christmas brings....it was nice to go back to see everyone. I will post pictures from Christmas soon, but I am so behind from moving. Mason is trying so hard to crawl...he is moving backwards but no forward motion yet. Mason must have song "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth" because he got them...on the bottom.

The night we came back from TN, yes the snow
is pushed in a pile but there were SOO many piles!
We got around a foot of snow....more in other places.

Mason eating cereal.

So I put Mason in his car seat w/o hooking it...
Maci had to go outside....the front door is about 10 feet away...
(all this took place within a minute)...I turned around this is what I found...

My dad bought Mason a flashlight at Wal-Mart....it shines different images on the wall....this always gets his attention when he is upset...he loves it!

When you are teething...you will chew on anything.

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!

We are crazy busy right now....not with the usual Christmas rush. We are moving this week...we have to have everything done by the time we leave for TN next week. It is hard to move when the temperature is in the teens! I took Mason for his six month check up today. He was a trooper with the shots. Then I went to Bass Pro to get his picture made with Santa, but Santa wasn't there until 4. So maybe tomorrow. I did find Mason some CUTE, CUTE stuff. I bought him a moose outfit. Yep, that's right a moose outfit....which includes the antlers, a small tail, and the feet!haha I will post pictures soon....I'm realizing how much fun a little boy is going to be as I look at all the toys. He will probably say that camo is his favorite color! ah, I love that little boy :)

Happy 6 Months!

Our Little Boy is 6 Months Old!

  • He is rolling around.
  • He is grabbing toys.
  • He is laughing at his self.
  • He smiles at Maci dog.
  • He likes bath time.
  • He loves to swing.

Heath and Mason

I walked into the kitchen to put my plate in the dishwasher. I left Mason on a blanket in the living room floor. I came back around the corner and found Mason like this....

LeT iT sNoW! LeT iT sNow!

We are currently under a "Winter Weather Warning"....I like the sound of that because I don't have anywhere to go until Thursday! It is nice to look at the snow knowing that you don't have to get out in it. Last night, Heath and I went to the grand opening of the first Orange County Chopper's Backyard BBQ (Whiting-Turner Contracting Company who Heath works for was the General Contractor on this project). There were soo many people waiting to see Paul Sr. (It is funny to see how people act when they see a "famous" person) Paul Sr walked in right beside us. (I think he looks different in person.) It was pretty neat though. Heath is in Springfield today looking for places to live. He will be working on the Wonders of Wildlife Museum for the next year, so I will be living in Kansas City traveling to Springfield...and Heath will be staying in Springfield coming to Kansas City on the weekends. Mason is the "grabber" now. If Maci dog gets close, he has a hold of her!lol He is getting more and more active....it is crazy how much they change weekly!

....we are still here....

First a few pictures to show what's been going on....

Mason's first pair of boots.

Hope you had a GREAT Thanksgiving! My parents came out for a week...we had a really good time, but it goes by SOOO fast! Heath and I went to see two movies while my parents were out....it was our first time out since Mason was born! It was good for the two of us just to get out, so many couples do not spend time alone after kids....VERY IMPORTANT! Mason had a little bug. He is feeling a lot better now, but he looked pitiful for a couple of days. Our dog had a play buddy (my parents' dog)....they were so funny to watch. I took Mason to have his pictures made today, but I'm realizing I can do better pictures. Most retail photographers just try to snap a few pictures to get done...I wish I could find a really good local photographer while he is little. Once he gets older I can take all his pictures. I will need someone who can do family pictures though. Check out the videos below:

Mason got a couple early Christmas gifts while my parents were out...the first video is of a early Christmas gift (WARNING: there is a mean dog in the video hahaha)

Guard Dog...BE AWARE!

Last week, Heath went to IL....which left Maci as my guard dog (or so she thinks). It just amazes me how she knows Heath isn't home, and she acts completely different. She listens for every noise, she follows EVERY step I take, and she doesn't sleep during the day. If Heath is here, you can find her sleeping on the couch or sometimes she sneaks upstairs to sleep in our bed. She was glad to see Heath get home....so she could go back to sleeping all day.....oh, and don't underestimate her size....furious like a lion!haha

Protecting Me....she has to lay on top of me

Just a little power nap.

I was laying in the bed talking on the phone, and Maci is watching down the hall...just making sure.

Laying on my lap....looking out the front door..

Just a lil Snow!!

Well I made it a whole week with just Mason and Maci.
Heath went deer hunting in IL. No luck though.
Hopefully, he will get a big ole buck in Kansas.
Mason was very good while Heath was gone.
He has a cough and a little stuffy nose.
BUT the weather is crazy here....it was just in the
70s, but today we woke up to SNOW! It wasn't a lot, but
it was enough to make the ground white.
We are on the hunt for another place to live. It's a
little complicated/crazy right now...Heath will be working on
a project in Springfield, MO...the Wonders of Wildlife Museum for
the Bass Pro Shops for a year. SO it will be just me and Mason in Kansas.
We are looking for something so we can SAVE, SAVE money.
My parents will be here Saturday!!!!
They are spending Thanksgiving with us. Can you tell
we are just a little excited? :)

Mason 5 Months & Our 1 1/2 Year Anniv!

Well today Mason is 5 months old!
It does go by soo fast.
He is such a joy!
Mason just talking...

Today, is our 1 1/2 year mark! I couldn't imagine what my life would be without my two guys. Last year on our six month anniversary, I found out that we were definitely going to be parents. Ah, I can't believe it's a year later.

Lazy Sunday

....yes, I am having a lazy Sunday. I should be studying or cleaning....BUT it's kinda nice just to have a lazy day. The weather is just beautiful! I could handle this weather all winter long. Heath is deer hunting in IL. Hopefully, he will have good luck. Maci is being my guard dog. She barks at every little noise when Heath isn't here.

Mason found his thumb. He is just amazed. He is starting to play on the Jumperoo. (I will post videos soon) I can't believe how fast babies grow and change. He is sleeping thru the night! WoOoHoO! He really wants to crawl, just hasn't figured it out yet....and he will be five months old in a couple of days. Just crazy.

My parents are coming out for Thanksgiving. I am so excited. :)

Happy Halloween!

I know...I know, it's been almost a year since I posted something. My excuse, a lot has happened this past year! Hopefully, I can starting posting more.
Since Last Fall....
I survived being pregnant (I really can't complain, I had a GREAT pregnancy), labor & delivery, and having a BABY around! We have moved houses, and we are getting ready to move again...Heath might be going to Springfield, MO for a year to build the Wonders of Wildlife Museum for Bass Pro. I'm still working a couple days at Target Pharmacy, and going to school. Heath is working and deer/turkey hunting. AND Heath just turned 26!

Now the most important update- Mason Brooks Taylor. He will be 5 months old on November 10. (It is so hard to believe) He just keeps getting cuter and cuter :) He is doing really great to have been a month early...he is "razzing" all the time now. He can grab toys. He can roll over. He loves to stand up. I love to hear him laugh. He has flown to TN twice, and he has been on one road trip to IL (and he has no clue). He watches Maci dog play. He looks just like Heath, BUT I think Mason is going to act like me :) ...hopefully, haha!
I will post Halloween pictures soon....Mason is going to be a dinosaur.

Catch Up.

Well it's been a few days.

1. My parents came out to visit, and we had a really good time. We ate a lot of good food in Kansas, looked for deer (of course), spent a day at the Plaza (which is really pretty!), and did a little shopping. Mom brought her new puppy, Kenzi. Maci loved it. :)

2. Thanksgiving was good. We spent the day around the house, and Heath deep-fried a turkey (our neighbors love us, ha). Then after we ate, we put up Christmas decorations...it won't be long :) It was great getting to spend our first Thanksgiving together, but we did miss seeing our family. I missed eating my mamaw's cooking mostly. YUM. We are going back to Tennessee for Christmas, so at least we get to spend one holiday with our family. We have a lot to be thankful for this year.

3. and the most IMPORTANT....we are going to be PARENTS! Another Heath Taylor, oh no but it's a possibility!lol We found a while back, but we just couldn't decide how we would tell everyone. We wanted to tell everyone in person, but Christmas would have been hard trying to work around the different schedules. So right before Thanksgiving we decided to mail out Christmas cards with a picture of the ultrasound to our family. The mail didn't work out just as we planned, but at least everyone knows now. In our parent's we put, "Just wanted to give you all your Christmas present a little early. It's the most expensive gift we could think of." :) My mom is going to be a GRANNY( haha she is going to kill me for that) My due date is July 3. I just thought about it today, THAT'S IN THE MIDDLE OF TORNADO SEASON!!!! and I'm in KANSAS!! ha oh no. I'll be having a baby in the hospital basement. GREAT.
