tour Kansas part 4
I hope you are still with me...because this is one of my favorites!
*Shopping*
Just a couple minutes from our house is The Legends at Village West.
"The Legends at Village West is a 1.2 million square-foot open-air shopping and entertainment center and features 101 stores and restaurants." There is a Dave & Busters, the first T-Rex Cafe, the first Orange County Choppers Backfire BBQ (built by the Whiting Turner Contracting Company!), movie theater, bowling, and LOTS of shopping. I buy most of Mason's clothes at the Carter outlet. Next to all the shopping is the T-Bones baseball stadium and Kansas Speedway. They are currently building a soccer stadium for the Kansas City Wizards.
More Fountains.
Next, there is another outdoor shopping center, Zona Rosa.
At Christmas
Indoor shopping is the Oak Park Mall. (Dillards-Disney Store-Crazy 8-Banana Republic-Godiva)
Right next to the Oak Park Mall is a Cheddar's...woOHoO!
Not Listed : Crown Center, Town Center Plaza,
Plus, there are the usual places and some more stores like Janie &Jack.
So save your money and come shopping with me! :)

tour Kansas part 3
Now let's head to downtown.
Part of this will be in Kansas City, Kansas
and most of it will be Kansas City, Missouri.
and most of it will be Kansas City, Missouri.
(Which for all my TN people...it's like Bristol, TN and VA)
We live only a couple minutes from the Missouri line.
Heath works downtown (Kansas City, Missouri).
He drives about 25 minutes to work everyday.
He works in an office in this building.

He works in an office in this building.
He works right next to Union Station.
"At its peak during WWII, an estimated one million travelers passed through the Station." Today, it has been renovated with fine restuarants, shops, Kansas City collections, many exhibits, and much more.
A couple minutes from his work is the Country Club Plaza.
The Counrty Club Plaza was the country's first shopping center
(designed in 1922).
(designed in 1922).
This place is beautiful!
"The Plaza is an outdoor museum of romantic Spanish architecture and European art."
There are many restaurants (PF Changs, Cheesecake Factory,
McCormick & Schmick's)
and many shops (Armani Exchange, The Apple Store, The North Face).

The Country Club Plaza will be decorated with all kinds of lights during Christmas...very pretty!
Kansas City is known as the City of Fountains. There are over 200 fountains listed.
Makes you smile :) lol
Downtown also has
The Power and Light District (which has a lot of events, concerts, and nightlife activities)
Sprint Center for concerts and other events (We saw Tim McGraw and Jason Aldean)
The World Market at Westport

tour Kansas part 2
This will show what Heath loves about Kansas. (I bet you couldn't guess)
You are seeing what we do on our date nights. Yep, that's right look for deer and turkey.
Heath's dream. This buck is at a deer farm.
Can you find the buck? Because this is what we do for fun.
...and I can't believe we have any money because of this place.
It is a really neat place though. There are all kinds of animals- full body mounted, they are mounted in real life form (like eating, running, etc)...from moose to elephants to zebras...there is an indoor aquarium...there is one room with all kinds of deer (full body mounted)...plus tons of stuff my husband thinks he HAS to have.

tour Kansas part 1
I have decided to take a couple blog entries and give everyone of glimpse of Kansas (and to show Mason one day in case we don't always live here). This will just be a glimpse of the area where we live. I know when we were moving to Kansas, I really didn't know what to expect. I thought of Kansas as wide open flat fields. West Kansas is like that, but where we live has rolling hills and trees! I remember when Heath came out here, he was excited to see trees. (We really didn't know anything about Kansas!) I like where we live because it is the best of both worlds...one way we are a couple minutes from dirt roads and the other way we are around the city (with all kinds of shopping!!).
Anyways, remember to keep all objects inside the bus...and enjoy the tour!
(Leave tips as you exit)
Let's start with the "country" side of Kansas...
Let's start with the "country" side of Kansas...
There are tons of fields.
Now, these are good clouds...
These on the other hand are not so good...I never thought having a basement would be so GREAT.
and next....
