Just an Update.

Just an update on Mason, Heath and me....
Mason is running around everywhere.
He loves to go to Cabelas.
There is a free aquarium to walk through and lots of animals to see.
He likes to ride on his pony.
He is starting to carry a blanket around (its brown with a little monkey)
He eats a TON of fruit...just last week he ate strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, cantaloupe, watermelon, bananas, and peaches. (all fresh fruit)
He can walk backwards.
He can spin around.
He had his first accident...he fell on our concrete driveway...
I think I cried more, it didn't seem to bother him. It looked horrible though!
He still loves to take baths.
He plays with Maci dog, and just laughs.
You can tell him to go get a book, and he will bring you one.
"Bye Bye" is his new phrase.
He is getting his molars at the moment.
Now for Heath...
Heath is super busy.
He is getting ready to go to South Dakota to start on a new project.
He is great with Mason....sliding down slides and reading books to Mason.
He can't find anyone to cut his hair right.
He is still looking for deer in the evening, and still gets excited every time he sees one :)
Now for Brandi (me)...
I just made my first blueberry pie! I get excited about cooking.
I am busy with Mason and trying to save us money every way possible.
I am starting classes at the end of August, hoepfully I will finish one day.
I am just trying to take care of my guys. Oh, and I finally colored my hair.
Oh and Maci dog...
She is getting smarter....She wants to sleep in our bed soooo bad. (She sleeps in a cage, we only let her sleep with us every now and then) Well she use to hide under the bed and wait for us to lay down....then jump in the bed hoping we wouldn't get up to put her in the cage....
Then she started waiting until we were in bed for a couple minutes....
Now she has figured out to wait until we stop talking.
It is so funny, we stop talking...then a minute later Maci dog jumps in our bed.
...and we still put her in her cage.

Saturday at the Park.

We took Mason to the park. We stayed for about an hour because it was super hot, even in the shade. His little face gets bright red. He likes to explore, then bring everything he finds to you.
Sword (stick) Fighting with Daddy
Dropping sticks through the holes in the bench...then found some leaves.
"Peek a Boo"

Pop N Play.

I love finding things to do with Mason. I think its more that I want to get out of the house, but at the same time Mason is getting to do something fun. The Johnson County Museum has Pop N Play on some Wednesday mornings from 9am- 11am. The cost...$1 per child! Yesterday, I took Mason to Pop N Play. There was one room set up for children 9months-3...it wasn't the biggest room, but they did have a lot for the kids to play with. There was one area set up with wooden puzzles, an area with soft mats and things to climb on, a music area, an area with buckets of rice & beans for the kids to dig in, an area with building blocks, and an area with a Lego table. Mason liked to climb on the chairs that were his size. He would run around the room jabbering and waving to everyone. He likes attention. He took a three hour nap when we got home....he was wore out from all the fun! I still can't believe all the stuff to do for his age in this area.

Parents As Teachers Meeting.

One Thursday, I took Mason to the Parents As Teachers playgroup. I like to watch him as he plays and watches other children. I would love to know what goes through his little mind. He found toys to push around the room and mats to jump on...so he was happy. Then about a week later we had a PAT meeting at our house. Our lady, Karen, brings games to do with Mason, keeps track of what he is doing, and gives ideas of stuff to be doing with Mason. I love to find household items that Mason can play with...and he seems to enjoy that stuff better than toys. Mason gets a new book at each meeting. We received the book Everywhere a Moo, Moo. If you ask Mason to "mooo", he will "brooo"....close enough! We have two more playgroups coming up in September.

a day at home.

Mason likes to get every toy and every book out....then he decides what to play with.
Mason and Maci dog are becoming buddies.
This melts my heart.....sometimes Mason will be so quiet. Heath or I will peek around to find him looking at a book.

the rocking chair.

When we decided to meet my parents in Illinois, I asked them to bring a rocking chair. I had this rocking chair when I was little. Mason discovered the chair, and he loves it. I don't know if he actually likes the chair or just the fact that he can climb in it! I like that it was something I had growing up, and now Mason is getting to use it.

Making our own tent.

A couple days this past week, it was just too hot. There was a heat warning, so we just played inside most of the day until very late in the evening.

 Making our own tent.
I love that the simple things put a smile on Mason's face.
He went in...
then went out.... times 100.
Then he realized he could climb through the chairs.

Playing in Oats.

I saw this idea at one of Mason's playgroups. I thought it would be a great idea since I had a whole container of oats. We usually put water in Mason's Water/Sand Table...but the oats would be a different thing for Mason to play with....plus it would be a different texture for his little hands to feel.
I didn't put a lot of oats in the table because it was suppose to rain that afternoon.
Mason checking it out.

Nothing Sweeter.

This rarely happens...Mason is always on the go...so if you can get a cuddle moment, you better enjoy it!
