First Easter Basket

I decided to make his First Easter basket...All the ones in the store didn't really have anything that he could play with, or it had candy that he couldn't eat.

Mason's Easter Basket Included:
-Bathtime Basketball Game
-Gerber Puffs
-New Sippy Cups
-Pez Container...the bunny was to cute :)
-Peter Rabbit Book
-Easter Card
-Plastic Eggs filled with Gerber Puffs &
Macaroni (to make noise when he shakes the eggs)
...and he found it :)

bummer.

We wanted to start Mason in a Sign Language class tomorrow, but there wasn't anyone else enrolling for that particular day/time. SO now I have to wait until June. I was hoping to start now because they say it takes about 2 months before the actually catch on to the signs. We have been working with him at home. I got books from the library, I just thought a class would give us helpful advice on what to do and not to do. BUMMER! :-/

Here is the class information

Interesting Fact:
Anne Meeker Miller, PhD, is the founder of Baby Sing and Sign (TM), a language and music enrichment program for hearing infants and toddlers. She teaches the Baby Sing and Sign series and seminars at a major medical center in the Kansas City area, where she shares information about the benefits of music, sign language, and play for babies, and gives easy and practical strategies for incoporating all three into families' daily lives.

back in Kansas.

Hope you had a GREAT EASTER. We did. We enjoyed the weekend with friends and family. Of course, there are people we wish we could have hung out with, but we understand that holidays are super busy. Maybe next time :) We made it through the plane flights with one active little guy who is teething.  Yep, all four top teeth are coming in at once. Poor guy. I just feel so bad for him. He is really clinging right now. Tonight, he fell asleep with me in the floor....and this is the kid who wants to be in his own bed and doesn't want to be held. I'm glad that we had amazing weather during our trip (better than the tornado watch about an hour away from us tonight). I'm still full from my mamaw's banana pudding and my mom's strawberry dessert...YUM, I miss their cooking. (Yes, my mom cooks!ha)

teeth.

Mason has been sleeping a lot this past week....he hasn't been whiny, just clingy to me. Tonight, Heath was playing with Mason, and he saw the two teeth on the top! One has already broken skin and the other one, (maybe more) is getting close. At Christmas, his two bottom teeth came in, and we wondered how long before more. We had our family pictures made (post soon)...we actually had a couple good ones....of course I bought more of just Mason. I really don't know what we are going to do with all the pictures of him. We went over to some friends' house for dinner last night. Mason put on a show...he actually stood for Katie for a few seconds. YAY.

busy.

Yesterday, I realized how much stuff I have to do before we go to TN. I kept thinking I had two weeks....but nope only one! Time goes by soooo fast. I took Maci this morning to get her hair cut, she really needed it. Tonight, we are doing family pictures. We have only had family pictures made once, and they were not great. So we are going to try it again. I have to finish all my school assignments before we come in. (Yikes!) Then get EVERYTHING ready to come in...which this flight should be interesting since Mason does not want to sit still for 2 seconds. It wears us out just trying to get ready to come in....so COME SEE US!! Mason has been sleeping 12 to 13 hours at night...for the last couple of nights....but now he doesn't want to take a nap...I don't know if I like this. Today is my dad's birthday and Heath's Nana's birthday....Happy Birthday! :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD/ PAPAW! We wish we could spend it with you!

birds chirping.

I thought Tennessee weather was crazy....but I think that Kansas weather is even crazier. Friday, I took my parents to the airport...I didn't even wear a coat. Saturday morning we woke up to around 5 inches of snow! Now, today (Tuesday) it's in the 60s, and I can hear all the birds chirping :) I know everyone is ready for warm weather...but then when it is over 100 out here, I will be complaining it's too hot to take Mason out! Now I'm starting my search of things to do in the warm weather for Mason. If you have any good ideas, just let me know!

My Gym

"My Gym has developed an extraordinary program and facility devised to help children 6 weeks thru 13 years of age develop physically, cognitively and emotionally. We have over 200 locations in more than 25 countries offering structured, age-appropriate, weekly classes that incorporate music, dance, relays, games, special rides, gymnastics, sports and more. Children have loads of fun as they gain strength, balance, coordination, agility and flexibility while developing social skills, confidence and self-esteem." (From My-Gym.com)

Basically it gives Mason, who is constantly moving, a chance to explore and play with really cool stuff. Every week they change the layout of the gym so it is different. We have a circle time for warm up activities...then free play...then different areas set up for certain activities...more free play...then separation time from Mommy (or whoever brings the child)...then we have a short story time...then the goodbye song. My parents were able to attend a class with us. Not only did they get to see Mason having tons of fun, but they were able to take pictures for me. Mason takes a long nap after My Gym!
Crawling through a rolling ball.
Climbing stairs...he is getting faster & faster.

it doesn't get easier...

People said that it would get easier when we left TN or people left from visiting us. BUT THEY LIED. I don't think it will ever get "easy" telling my parents "bye" because I will always miss them. We did have a good week though. Mason put on a show, but by the end of the week he was getting tired. He loves his new car. I think my dad wore out our floors pushing him around. Maci dog hasn't moved off the couch since they left....she is wore out! Mason is going to miss all the attention, and I'm going to miss having more help. It was nice to watch someone else try to change Mason's diaper while he rolls around. He doesn't want to be still....not for one second. I will post pictures of their visit soon.
